Diamond Select Toys: Marvel Select Figures, Vinimates and Statues

Diamond Select Toys makes figures for shelves and desks in five families: Marvel Select action figures, small Vinimates vinyl figures, vinyl figure and bust banks, Marvel Gallery PVC figures, and resin and vinyl statues. The grid above holds every Diamond Select Toys listing we track on Amazon US. Marvel Select is the biggest group, and its figures usually come with a base or a scene. In my experience, the base gets noticed first and the figure second.

What Diamond Select Toys makes

Diamond Select Toys makes licensed figures in a lot of shapes. The grid is easier to read once you sort it into five families:

  1. Marvel Select: posable Marvel action figures, most with a display base.
  2. Vinimates: small, stylized vinyl figures.
  3. Vinyl banks: figures and busts with a coin slot.
  4. Marvel Gallery: PVC figures and dioramas that hold one pose.
  5. Statues: Marvel Premier Collection resin statues, a Femme Fatales vinyl statue and a large Pacific Rim kaiju.

In our data, the brand covers action figures, vinyl figures, statues and a few anime-style figures. When we pulled the data in October 2026, the grid held close to 90 listings. The licenses are wide: Marvel, Godzilla, Aliens, Predator, The X-Files, Star Trek: The Next Generation, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Iron Giant, The Dark Tower, Kingdom Hearts, The Flash TV series, Pacific Rim Uprising, and a Cthulhu Vinimate. We name them as the listings do.

We couldn't open a first-party company page for Diamond Select Toys when we wrote this, so you won't find company history here. Everything below comes from the listings.

Marvel Select: figures with a place to stand

Marvel Select is the biggest family in the grid and the one people search for by name. What the listings state:

So Marvel Select isn't one height. Big characters come bigger. A Juggernaut at 8 inches and an Abomination at 9 stand over a 7-inch Thor, which is what you'd expect from the characters.

The base is half the figure

Here's my one opinion for this page: with Marvel Select, read the base line before you read the character. The reason is in the listings. These figures list their bases and display pieces the way other lines list hands:

Two figures on two different bases don't just stand differently. They take different shelf room. A floating base adds height. A bar wall adds depth and width. Measure for the base, then for the figure.

The Punisher is also the only figure I know of that ships with its own pinball machine. It's the only pinball machine that will ever fit in Bay Three.

Marvel Select figures with swaps

A few listings name swappable parts:

If swapping parts is the fun for you, those three are where the listings point.

Building a Marvel Select shelf

Because the line steps from 7 to 9 inches and almost every figure brings a base, a Marvel Select shelf works better arranged like a team photo than like a parade.

Leave an inch between bases. Bases that touch get bumped together every time you dust, and dusting is the only maintenance a shelf like this asks for.

Vinimates: small vinyl figures

Vinimates are the small family. The one listing that states a size, The X-Files Mulder, gives 4 inches and calls itself a vinyl figure. The rest of the Vinimates in our grid: Aliens Ripley, Alien Big Chap, Predator Dutch, Predator Masked Cloaked, The Nightmare Before Christmas The Mayor, The Iron Giant, The Dark Tower The Gunslinger, Cthulhu, Kingdom Hearts Sora and The Flash TV series Captain Cold.

Most Vinimates sit in Diamond Select's lowest price tier in our data. The Iron Giant and Cthulhu sit higher.

Four inches is a desk size. These are the only figures in the grid short enough for the casita's windowsill, which has room for exactly one row of anything as long as it's under five inches and nobody opens the window.

Vinyl banks: figures that hold coins

Three listings are banks:

A bust is a head-and-shoulders sculpt. A bank has a coin slot. So these are display pieces that also do a job, which is more than most things on my shelves can say. My tía gave me a pig bank when I was eight. I still have it. It holds six quarters and a washer, and I've never figured out where the washer came from.

Marvel Gallery: one-pose PVC figures

Marvel Gallery pieces are PVC figures that hold one pose, as their titles and our type data show. In our grid: Marvel Gallery Spider-Man PVC Figure, Thor Ragnarok Thor PVC Figure, Savage Land Rogue PVC Figure, and the Taco Truck Deadpool PVC Diorama.

The diorama is the one to measure. A diorama is a figure set into a small scene, and a scene with a truck in it needs more shelf than a figure standing on a rock.

Statues: resin and vinyl

The statue rows:

The Premier Collection statues and the Hakuja sit in Diamond Select's higher price tiers in our data.

How to pick within Diamond Select Toys

  1. Decide what it's for. Posing (Marvel Select), a desk or windowsill (Vinimates), a bank that doubles as decor (the banks), or a one-pose display piece (Marvel Gallery, statues).
  2. For Marvel Select, read the base first. It sets the shelf footprint and, for many buyers, the reason to pick one figure over another.
  3. Check the height against the rest of the row. 7, 8 and 9 inches all appear in the same line.
  4. Look for the age label. Only the Hulk lists one, 14+. The rest are collector figures by default.
  5. Read the seller and condition lines. Many Marvel Select listings have been up for a long time, so check the photos for the base and parts.

Budget tier

Vinimates and the Iron Man Marvel Select sit in Diamond Select's lowest tier in our data. Most Marvel Select figures sit one or two tiers up. The Hulk, Abomination, Colossus, Carnage, the Premier Collection statues and the Hakuja sit higher. We don't print prices. The Check price button shows today's.

A note on Marvel Select and Marvel Legends

People often compare Marvel Select with the Marvel Legends figures from another maker. The data shows one clear difference: the Marvel Legends listings we track are titled 6-inch, while Marvel Select figures in our grid list 7 to 9 inches. They won't line up as one row. Pick one line per shelf.

Buying one as a gift

For a Marvel fan who already owns figures, ask what size their shelf runs. If it's a 6-inch shelf, a 7 to 9-inch Marvel Select figure will stand out, which may or may not be the idea. For a desk or a dorm, a Vinimate or a bank is the safer bet: small, one piece, nothing to lose. For a fan of one of the film lines, the Aliens and Predator Vinimates and the Xenomorph Queen bank share a theme and a shelf.

Who should skip Diamond Select Toys

Skip Marvel Select if you want a uniform row of identical heights. The line scales with the character, so a shelf of them steps up and down.

Skip the resin statues if they'll sit somewhere they can be knocked. Resin is rigid, and rigid things chip.

And skip all of it for young kids. Only one listing in our grid states an age, and it's 14+.

Safety and care

Marvel Select figures and Marvel Gallery dioramas come with small parts: hands, heads, tendrils, gauntlets, little figures on the base. Check the age label on the listing. Toys with small parts are a choking hazard for children under 3. Keep spare parts in a closed box.

For banks, empty them before you move them. A bank full of coins is heavier than it looks, and the weight isn't where the base expects it.

For resin statues, lift with two hands under the base and keep them back from the shelf edge.

Diamond Select Toys next to other makers

For posable Marvel figures at a different size, see the Marvel Legends page. For stylized vinyl figures, Funko is the other big name. For statues and dioramas from other makers, compare Beast Kingdom, Iron Studios and DC Collectibles, and see our statues page.

Read the base line. Then read the name. Then check the height.

Questions about Diamond Select Toys

Is Diamond Select Toys a good brand?

Here's what the listings show. Marvel Select figures state 14 to 16 points of articulation where listed and 7 to 9 inches where a height is given, and most list a base or display piece. Vinimates, banks and statues list fewer specs. We don't have buyer review summaries yet, so we don't rate the brand.

What is Marvel Select?

Marvel Select is Diamond Select Toys' line of Marvel action figures. In our grid the figures list 7 to 9 inches where a height is stated, 14 to 16 points of articulation, and many come with a display base, from a Danger Room base for Gambit to a Rainbow Bridge stand for Loki. The Incredible Hulk listing is the only one with an age: 14+.

What are Vinimates?

Vinimates are Diamond Select Toys' small vinyl figures. The one Vinimate in our grid that states a size, The X-Files Mulder, lists 4 inches and calls itself a vinyl figure. The line covers film, TV, game and comic characters, from Aliens Ripley to Kingdom Hearts Sora. Most Vinimates sit in the brand's lowest price tier in our data.

Where can you buy Diamond Select Toys figures?

The figures in the grid above were listed on Amazon US with delivery to New York when we checked in October 2026. Many Marvel Select listings have been up for years, so read the seller line and condition line, and check the photos for the base, which is part of what you're paying for on most of these figures.

Do Diamond Select vinyl banks actually hold coins?

They're sold as banks, and the titles say so: Godzilla Classic 1989 Vinyl Figure Bank, Godzilla Mechagodzilla Vinyl Bust Bank and Aliens Alien Xenomorph Queen Vinyl Bust Bank. Our data doesn't state the coin capacity or how the coins come out, so check the listing photos for the slot and the opening before you buy one as a working bank.
