MotoTec: Electric and Gas Dirt Bikes, Mini Bikes, Go Karts and ATVs
MotoTec sells gas and electric ride-ons on Amazon US: electric dirt bikes like the Demon and HP112E, small 2-stroke pit bikes, mini bikes from 49cc to 200cc, go karts and kids' ATVs. Here's the catch: none of the MotoTec listings in our data states a rider age or a rider weight limit. So the manual comes before the cart. At the shop we say a bike without a manual is a guess with wheels.

What MotoTec makes
MotoTec sells motorized ride-ons in five types, going by our Amazon US data:
- Electric dirt bikes: Demon, HP122E, HP112E, 36V Pro, 48V Pro, Venom
- Gas dirt and pit bikes: Demon 40cc, DB-01, DB-02, Thunder, Villain, Warrior, Hooligan, X1, X2, X3
- Mini bikes: GT, Phantom, Bandit, MT-MiniBike 105cc, Trailcross 200cc, and a 60V electric
- Go karts: Sandman, Mud Monster, Mud XL 212cc, plus three electric karts
- Kids' ATVs and UTVs: Renegade, Bull, E-Bully, Raider Kids UTV
That's a wide spread. It runs from a 300W electric bike to a 12000W one, and from a 40cc gas engine to a 212cc kart.
The grid above has every MotoTec listing we track. Several models show up more than once, in different colors or listings. I'll go type by type.
The gap in every MotoTec listing
Straight up: none of the MotoTec listings in our October 2026 data states a rider age. None states a rider weight limit either. For a ride-on, those are the two numbers I won't buy without.
That doesn't mean MotoTec doesn't publish them. It means the Amazon listing doesn't show them in our data. The fix is simple and not optional: get the owner's manual, or ask the seller for the maker's age, height and weight limits, before you buy. Then fit the bike to the rider standing in front of you.
MotoTec electric dirt bikes
The electric bikes, smallest motor first:
- HP122E: 300W, 36V 4Ah, 16 mph
- Demon 36V 500W: lithium-ion; one listing adds front and rear brakes and parent-selectable speeds
- HP112E: 1000W, 36V 7.8Ah, 18 mph
- 36V Pro: 1200W, 36V, lithium-ion
- 48V Pro 1800W: 1800W, 48V, lithium-ion
- Venom: 12000W, 72V
"Parent-selectable speeds" on the Demon is the phrase I look for on a kid's electric bike. It means the parent sets the ceiling. The HP122E and HP112E list a top speed; the others in our data don't.
The Venom is a different machine from the rest. At 12000W and 72V, it's not in the same class as a 500W Demon, and our data gives no age or weight limit for it. Treat it as an adult bike until the manual says otherwise.
Who suits the small electrics: a younger rider whose parent has the manual's limits in hand and wants no fuel in the garage. Who should skip them: anyone who can't get the maker's age and weight limits. No number, no bike.
MotoTec gas pit bikes and dirt bikes
The gas bikes, by engine size:
- Demon 40cc: 4-stroke
- DB-01 and DB-02: 49cc 2-stroke, pull start, 25 mph listed
- 49cc Mini Dirt Bike: 2-stroke, automatic, 11-inch tires
- Thunder 50cc: 2-stroke
- Villain 52cc and Warrior 52cc: 2-stroke, two listings each
- Hooligan 72cc: 4-stroke, automatic with a centrifugal clutch, electric start, 33 mph listed
- X1 110cc and X2 110cc: 4-stroke
- X3 125cc: 4-stroke
A 2-stroke mixes oil into the fuel. A 4-stroke keeps the oil separate, in the crankcase. That changes your fueling routine, and the manual for each engine gives the mix or the oil type. Don't borrow a mix ratio from a neighbor's bike. Two 2-strokes on the same street can want different things.
An automatic clutch means no clutch lever: the bike engages as the engine speeds up. The Hooligan and the 49cc Mini Dirt Bike list one. For a new rider, fewer controls is easier.
Who suits the small 2-strokes: a family that can store fuel safely and run engines outdoors only. Who should skip them: anyone who wants a ride-on to live in an attached garage with the fuel. Look at the electric bikes instead.
For more gas bikes from every maker, see pit bikes and kids' dirt bikes.
MotoTec mini bikes
Mini bikes are low, simple bikes with small wheels and a seat close to the ground. MotoTec's in our data:
- GT 49cc: 2-stroke
- Phantom: 49cc 2-stroke, automatic centrifugal clutch, front and rear disc brakes
- Bandit 52cc: 2-stroke
- MT-MiniBike-105cc
- 60V 1500W Electric Mini Bike: lithium, 28 mph listed
- Trailcross 200cc: 4-stroke, 40 mph listed, two listings
The Phantom is the one with front and rear disc brakes listed, which matters on a bike a new rider will stop a hundred times a day. The Trailcross at 200cc is a much bigger machine than the 49cc bikes, and our data gives no age or weight for it.
For more, see mini bikes.
MotoTec go karts
Gas karts:
- Sandman: 52cc 2-stroke, automatic centrifugal clutch, pull start, rear disc brake, rear suspension, 9.5-inch wheels, 32 mph listed; two listings
- Mud Monster: 98cc, full suspension
- Mud XL 212cc: 4-stroke, two seats, full suspension
Electric karts:
- Off Road Go Kart 48v 1000w: 1000W, 48V
- Mud Kids Electric: 1000W, 48V
- Mud XL Electric: 2000W, 60V
The Mud XL 212cc lists two seats. A second seat is a second rider, who needs the same helmet and gear and must fit the same limits. The electric Mud Kids kart has "Kids" in its name, but our data gives no age. Get the manual's number.
For more karts, see go karts, off-road go karts and electric go karts.
MotoTec kids' ATVs and UTVs
- Renegade 40cc: 4-stroke ATV
- Bull 125cc: 4-stroke ATV
- E-Bully: electric ATV, 1000W, 36V
- Raider Kids UTV: electric, 1200W, 48V
The American Academy of Pediatrics' HealthyChildren.org says children under 16 should not operate an ATV, that kids 12 to 15 who do ride should be on youth models, and that riders should wear a motorcycle-style helmet every time. Most ATVs are built for one rider, per the same page. Read that guidance next to any listing before you decide.
Same model, several listings
MotoTec models repeat in our grid. The Warrior 52cc, the Villain 52cc, the Sandman, the Trailcross 200cc, the HP112E, the Demon 36V 500W and the 48V Pro 1800W each show up twice.
Sometimes the twin listings match line for line. Sometimes one lists a feature the other doesn't, like the Demon 36V 500W listing that adds front and rear brakes and parent-selectable speeds. That usually means one listing was written more fully, not that the bikes differ. But I can't prove that from a listing, so I don't assume it.
Here's the practical move: when two listings share a model name, read both. Take the specs that agree as solid. Treat a spec that appears on only one as a question for the seller. Two listings saying the same thing beat one listing saying more.
What to ask the seller before you buy
Because the listings leave out the fit numbers, write your questions down before you click. These are the ones I'd send:
- The maker's minimum age, and the maximum rider weight
- The seat height, or the minimum rider height
- The brakes, front and rear, and how they're worked
- For gas models: 2-stroke or 4-stroke, and the fuel and oil the manual calls for
- For electric models: the charger, the charge time and the battery type
- How much assembly the bike needs on arrival
- Whether the owner's manual is available before purchase
If the answers come back in writing, keep them with the receipt. If they don't come back, that's an answer too.
Electric or gas: what changes at home
MotoTec sells both, sometimes in the same type. The 52cc Bandit mini bike and the 60V electric mini bike sit side by side in the grid. So do the gas and electric Mud XL karts.
What changes isn't only the motor:
- Storage: gas means a fuel can stored away from the house. Electric means a charger and a dry spot.
- Where it runs: a gas engine runs outdoors only. An electric one is quiet enough that neighbors may not notice it.
- Upkeep: a gas engine needs fuel, oil and a spark plug now and then. An electric one needs charging and battery care.
- Startup: pull start on the DB-01, DB-02 and Sandman; electric start on the Hooligan; a switch on the electrics.
Neither is the right answer for every family. Pick the one your garage, your yard and your weekends can live with.
How to pick within MotoTec
- Get the manual's limits first. Age, height, weight. Without them, stop here.
- Pick electric or gas. Electric means a charger and no fuel. Gas means fuel storage and the driveway, never the garage.
- Pick the type. Dirt bike for off-road riding, mini bike for simple low riding, kart for seated riding.
- Pick the smallest motor that fits. Entry-level means the low end of the list, like the HP122E or a 40cc to 52cc engine.
- Read the brakes and the clutch. Disc brakes and an automatic clutch are easier for a new rider.
The driveway rule
Engines run on the driveway, never in the garage, door up or not. Marisol made that rule before I moved into the casita. It's the only rule at the end of Piñon Loop I've never tried to amend. Every gas MotoTec in this grid lives under it.
Safety, every ride
Riders need a properly fitted helmet made for motorized riding, plus gloves, boots, eye protection and long sleeves and pants. Follow the maker's age, height and weight limits, and keep an adult watching every ride. The CPSC's helmet chart lists a motocross or motorcycle helmet for ATV, dirt- and mini-bike riding, and a karting or motorcycle helmet for go-karting.
Refuel outdoors with the engine off and cool, and store fuel in an approved container away from the house. Never run an engine in a garage or any closed space. The CPSC says to store gas cans in well-ventilated, cool areas, never inside a house or basement.
For the electric models: charge with the charger that came with it, on a hard surface, and follow the maker's charging instructions.
Rules for riding mini bikes, pit bikes and go karts vary by state and town. Check yours, and ride only where it's allowed.
Manual first. Then the bike. Then the ride.

Questions about MotoTec
What age is a MotoTec dirt bike for?
None of the MotoTec listings in our October 2026 data states a rider age or, for the bikes, a weight limit. That doesn't mean there isn't one. It means the listing doesn't say. Get the owner's manual or ask the seller for the maker's age, height and weight limits before you buy, and fit the bike to the rider today.
What is the MotoTec Demon?
Two kinds of Demon are in our data. The Demon 36V 500W is an electric dirt bike with a lithium-ion battery; one listing adds front and rear brakes and parent-selectable speeds. The Demon gas listing is a 40cc 4-stroke pit bike. Same name, different power. Read which Demon a listing is before you compare anything else.
Does MotoTec make a 1000W electric dirt bike?
Yes. The MotoTec HP112E lists a 1000W motor, a 36V 7.8Ah battery and an 18 mph top speed. Other 1000W MotoTec rides in our data are the Off Road Go Kart 48v, the Mud Kids Electric kart and the E-Bully electric ATV. The 36V Pro lists 1200W, and the 48V Pro lists 1800W.
Are MotoTec mini bikes gas or electric?
Both. In our data, the GT, Phantom and Bandit are 49cc and 52cc 2-strokes, the MT-MiniBike lists 105cc, and the Trailcross is a 200cc 4-stroke. There's also a 60V 1500W lithium electric mini bike. Gas bikes need fuel storage and outdoor running; the electric one needs a charger and a dry place.
Where can I buy MotoTec?
The grid above lists every MotoTec ride-on we track on Amazon US, with a Check price button for each. Several models appear more than once, in different colors or listings, like the Warrior 52cc and the Villain 52cc. Compare the specs within a model before you pick a listing, and ask the seller for the manual.
Is the MotoTec Hooligan 72cc automatic?
Yes, per its listing: the Hooligan 72cc lists an automatic transmission with a centrifugal clutch, so there's no clutch lever. It's a 4-stroke with electric start and a listed top speed of 33 mph. The listing in our data gives no rider age or weight limit, so get those from the manual before you buy.
