Fisher-Price Blocks: Two Sets, Plus Toddler Blocks Like Them
Fisher-Price blocks are a short list on Amazon US right now: we track two sets, the Wood Jungle Blocks Set (2+ on the listing) and the Toddler Soft Foam Building Blocks (9 large foam pieces). For more choice, the alternatives table lists 13 toddler block sets from MEGA and LEGO DUPLO, most listed from age 1. Pick by material first: wood, foam or big plastic bricks. (Sam's first tower was three blocks tall. He announced it like a skyscraper. It was.)

Fisher-Price blocks on Amazon US right now
We track two Fisher-Price block sets on Amazon US as of 2026-10-23. That's a short list for a name most parents know from the baby aisle, and we'll say so plainly. The data covers toddler block sets only. Fisher-Price makes other baby and toddler toys, and those aren't what this page is about.
Here are the two:
- Fisher-Price Wood Jungle Blocks Set, listed for ages 2+
- Fisher-Price Toddler Soft Foam Building Blocks, 9 pieces, large foam blocks
Because two sets is a small table, the page adds a second one: "Alternatives to Fisher-Price", with 13 toddler block sets from other makers. Both tables are above. This page explains how they differ and how to choose among them.
The Wood Jungle Blocks Set
The Wood Jungle Blocks Set is a wooden block set with a jungle theme, listed for ages 2+. It's the only wooden set in either table on this page.
Wood is the classic block material for a reason. Blocks are heavy enough to sit still, so a tower stands until somebody decides it shouldn't. Wood also makes the best sound when it falls, which a 2-year-old will consider the main event.
Our data doesn't list a piece count for this set, so check the listing photos for what's in the box. For a page that covers wooden blocks from many makers, see wooden blocks.
The Toddler Soft Foam Building Blocks
The foam set is 9 pieces, and the listing calls them large blocks. Foam is light and soft, so a tower that falls doesn't make much noise. That's the whole case for foam, and in a house with a sleeping baby it's a strong one.
Nine large blocks build simple things: a short tower, a wall, a step. For a baby who's just learning to stack, that's enough. For a toddler who wants to build a house, nine won't stretch very far.
The listing in our data doesn't state an age. We don't guess one. Read the listing before buying for a child under 3, and look for an age label on the box.
Alternatives to Fisher-Price blocks
The alternatives table lists 13 toddler block sets, chosen from the same type in our data: toddler building blocks. Twelve are from MEGA and one is from LEGO DUPLO. They're all big plastic bricks that press together, which is a different kind of block from wood or foam.
Mattel's online shop lists Fisher-Price among its brands, and its Fisher-Price page also shows MEGA Bloks. That's why many parents meet both names in the same aisle. We list the MEGA sets here because they match the type and the ages, not because of who sells them.
MEGA big-brick sets
The MEGA sets in the table are big interlocking bricks, the kind a toddler can grip with a whole hand. Most list 1+ on the listing. The one with an upper end is the Big Building Bag (red, 80 pcs), listed for ages 1 to 3.
They split into three kinds:
Bags of bricks. The First Builders Big Building Bag in blue or pink, 60 pieces each, and the Big Building Bag in red, 80 pieces. These are the plain sets: bricks and a bag to keep them in. Every one lists storage included.
Vehicles. The John Deere Lil' Tractor (6 pieces), the John Deere Dump Truck (25 pieces), Freddy Firetruck (6), Ricky Race Car (6) and the Build & Race Rig (16, with a race car that makes 5 sounds per the listing). A vehicle set is a toy first and a building set second. It rolls when it's built.
Activity sets. The Block Spinning Wagon (20 pieces), the Block Scooping Wagon (20), the Build 'n Tumble Activity Table (25) and the Rise & Snooze Night Light (30 pieces, with a night light, lullabies, sounds and a star projector according to the listing). These add a job to the bricks: pull, scoop, tumble or light up.
Two listings say they work with other MEGA sets, several say they work with all MEGA BLOKS building toys, and three say compatible with other name brands without naming any. We repeat what each listing says and add nothing.
LEGO DUPLO
One LEGO set is in the table: the 10914 Deluxe Brick Box, 85 DUPLO-size pieces, listed for ages 1.5+, with storage included. The listing says it combines with other LEGO DUPLO sets. DUPLO is LEGO's line of larger bricks for small hands. See the LEGO page for more of the brand's DUPLO and brick sets.
Fisher-Price blocks vs big bricks: wood, foam or plastic
Here's how the three materials on this page compare, using what the listings tell us.
| Material | Sets on this page | How pieces join | Stated ages in our data |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wood | Fisher-Price Wood Jungle Blocks | Stack only | 2+ |
| Foam | Fisher-Price Toddler Soft Foam | Stack only | Not stated |
| Plastic bricks | 12 MEGA sets, 1 LEGO DUPLO | Press together | Mostly 1+, DUPLO 1.5+ |
Stacking blocks teach balance. A tower stands if it's straight and falls if it isn't, and nobody has to explain why. Press-together bricks teach something else. They hold even when the build leans, so a toddler can make a bridge or a car that stays together when it's picked up.
Neither is the better first block. The right one depends on what your toddler does with blocks right now. A child who stacks and knocks down will be happy with wood or foam. A child who carries builds around the house needs bricks that hold.
Marisol's advice on big blocks: "Count the blocks into the bin at night. If the count is short, it's under the couch, not gone." She labeled the bin too. Of course she did.
How to pick toddler blocks
- Check the stated age. The Wood Jungle Blocks Set says 2+. Most MEGA sets in the table say 1+. The DUPLO box says 1.5+. The foam set's listing in our data doesn't say, so look for the label.
- Pick the material. Wood for stacking and sound, foam for soft falls, big bricks for builds that hold together.
- Bag or theme? A bag of bricks grows with a child longer. A vehicle or activity set gets used right away.
- Storage. Every MEGA bag and vehicle set in the table lists storage included. That matters more than it sounds. Blocks without a home end up everywhere.
- Electronics or not? Two sets in the table have electronics: the Build & Race Rig's car makes sounds, and the Rise & Snooze set is a night light with sounds. If you want a quiet toy, skip those two.
Here's a toddler-room truth: whatever bin you buy, the toddler will at some point try to sit in it. Pick a sturdy bin.
Gift notes by birthday
Toddler block gifts usually come at a birthday, so here's the list sorted that way. Every pick follows its stated starting age.
A first birthday. The MEGA sets that list 1+ are the ones in our data that fit. A bag of bricks is the plain choice. A vehicle like the John Deere Lil' Tractor or Freddy Firetruck is the one that gets pushed across the floor the same afternoon. The Big Building Bag (red, 80 pcs) lists 1 to 3, so it's made for exactly this stretch.
Around 18 months. The LEGO DUPLO 10914 Deluxe Brick Box joins the list at 1.5+. So do all the 1+ sets above.
A second birthday. The Fisher-Price Wood Jungle Blocks Set joins at 2+. This is also the age when a toddler starts to care what a build looks like. Wood blocks with a theme give that something to work with.
The foam set. Its listing in our data doesn't state an age, so we don't place it on a birthday. Read the box.
If two relatives are buying for the same birthday, split by material. One gives wood or foam, the other gives bricks. Two bags of the same bricks is one big bag, which is fine, but it isn't two gifts.
Setting up a block corner
Blocks get played with where they're easy to reach and easy to put away. A low open basket or a bin a toddler can tip over by themselves works better than a shelf they can't reach. The MEGA bags that list storage included solve half of this before the box is open.
Put the blocks on a hard floor or a flat, low rug. Towers need a level base, and a thick rug tips them before the toddler gets a turn. A clear patch of floor about the size of a bath towel is plenty for a first block corner.
At the end of the day, blocks go back in the basket. Make it a song, a race or a count. Whatever works. The habit is worth more than the blocks.
Small parts, sounds and batteries
Check the age label on the listing. Toys with small parts are a choking hazard for children under 3.
Big toddler blocks are made large on purpose. Still, sets for different ages get mixed in one house. Keep an older sibling's small bricks in a separate, closed bin, away from a toddler's blocks.
For the sets with sounds or lights, check the listing for the battery type. Button batteries can cause serious injury if swallowed. Keep spares locked away and check that battery covers are screwed shut.
Who should skip these sets
Skip a big-brick set for a child who has moved on to small bricks and booklets. That kid is ready for the building blocks page.
Skip the foam set for a toddler who wants to build something bigger than a short tower. Nine blocks is a start, not a house.
And skip anything with electronics if a quiet room at nap time matters more to you than lullabies from a block. A block that sings a lullaby at 2 p.m. is still singing it at nap time.
For more ideas by age, the gifts for 3-year-olds page checks every pick against its age label.
Pick the material that matches the play. The toddler will supply the demolition.

Questions about Fisher-Price
What Fisher-Price blocks are on Amazon US?
In our data, two: the Fisher-Price Wood Jungle Blocks Set, listed for ages 2+, and the Fisher-Price Toddler Soft Foam Building Blocks, a 9-piece set of large foam blocks. The foam set's listing in our data doesn't state an age. The alternatives table on this page adds 13 toddler block sets from other makers.
Who makes Fisher-Price?
Mattel's online shop lists Fisher-Price among its brands, and the shop's footer carries the Mattel copyright. The same Fisher-Price page on Mattel's shop also shows MEGA Bloks. We don't go beyond what that page shows.
What age are Fisher-Price blocks for?
The Wood Jungle Blocks Set lists 2+. The Toddler Soft Foam Building Blocks listing in our data doesn't state an age, so check the listing before you buy. Most of the MEGA sets in the alternatives table list 1+, and the LEGO DUPLO 10914 Deluxe Brick Box lists 1.5+.
Are foam blocks or wood blocks better for a toddler?
They do different jobs. Foam blocks are soft and light, so a falling tower is quiet. Wood blocks are heavier and steadier, so towers stand taller before they fall. Neither is better in general. Pick by the child's stated-age fit first, then by the room the blocks will live in.
Do MEGA Bloks work with LEGO DUPLO?
We only state compatibility when a listing says so. In our data, several MEGA listings say they work with other MEGA BLOKS sets, and a few say compatible with other name brands, without naming them. The LEGO DUPLO listing says it combines with other LEGO DUPLO sets. Read each listing if mixing matters.
